Graphite Plus :: RE: choosing a spinner bait rod. Author: Jeff Bradshaw Subject: 6'9" seems to be the best length...... Posted: Wed Aug 10, 2005 4:57 pm (GMT 0) Topic Replies: 5
I fish 1/2oz spinnerbaits on the delta about 50% of the time and almost always use the KSBS69 rod, I actually have three of them. When not using that rod I use a 7' med/hvy, I never go smaller. Years back I used a 6'6" rod and over time felt it didn't have the backbone to get the larger fish (5-7 pounds) out of the cover.
In the last WON Bass pro-am on the delta I caught 5 bass between 5-7 pounds on day one all on spinnerbaits witht he 6'9" rod and had no trouble getting them out of the weeds, never lost a fish the entire tournament.
